64

Sanskrit:

संहारिणी रुद्ररूपा तिरोधानकरीश्वरी ।
सदाशिवानुग्रहदा पञ्चकृत्यपरायणा ॥ ६४ ॥

English:

saṁhāriṇī rudrarūpā tirōdhānakarīśvarī |
sadāśivānugrahadā pañcakr̥tyaparāyaṇā ॥ 64 ॥

Tamil:

ஸம்ஹாரிணீ ருத்³ரரூபா திரோதா⁴நகரீஶ்வரீ ।
ஸதா³ஶிவாநுக்³ரஹதா³ பஞ்சக்ருத்யபராயணா ॥ 64 ॥

Meaning:

In this 64th verse, Śrī Lalitā appears as:

The Supreme Cosmic Power who performs and governs the five divine functions (Pañcakṛtya) — not as separate acts, but as one continuous divine intelligence.

She manifests as:

  • Saṁhāriṇī – the subtle power that dissolves negativity and removes what is no longer needed, protecting life by clearing obstacles such as suffering, disease, debt, and inner impurities.
  • Rudra-rūpā – the visible and active transformative force that removes pain and karmic burdens, bringing real change in life. What appears intense is actually compassionate correction leading to growth and renewal.
  • Tirodhāna-karī Īśvarī – the supreme ruler who conceals and reveals with perfect wisdom. She hides what is not yet beneficial, protects through unseen grace, delays or avoids difficulties, and guides the seeker toward the right path at the right time.
  • Sadāśivā – the eternal auspicious reality, the state of pure consciousness where the soul realizes its true nature beyond body and mind, attaining inner completeness and immortality (amṛtatva).
  • Anugrahadā – the bestower of grace, who transforms effort into lived experience (anubhava). Through Her compassion, obstacles dissolve, clarity arises, and even the impossible becomes possible.

Thus, She is Pañcakṛtya-parāyaṇā — the one fully established in the five cosmic acts:

  1. Sṭi – creation
  2. Sthiti – preservation
  3. Saṁhāra – dissolution
  4. Tirodhāna – concealment
  5. Anugraha – grace and liberation

These are not separate processes — they are one continuous flow of divine functioning.

Meditation:

This verse reveals Lalitā as the complete intelligence behind life itself.

Every phase of life is guided by Her:

  • Creation gives opportunity
  • Preservation sustains growth
  • Dissolution removes obstacles
  • Concealment protects and prepares
  • Grace reveals truth and fulfills life

Meditating on Saṁhāriṇī teaches:
What is removed is not loss — it is protection.

Meditating on Rudra-rūpā teaches:
What feels intense is transformation, not punishment.

Meditating on Tirodhāna-karī teaches:
What is hidden is not denied — it is being protected until the right time.

Meditating on Sadāśivā reveals:
Our true nature is ever-auspicious, beyond all change.

Meditating on Anugrahadā reveals:
Effort becomes fulfillment only through grace — and grace turns knowledge into experience.
