English:

mahābhōgā mahaiśvaryā mahāvīryā mahābalā |
mahābuddhirmahāsiddhirmahāyōgēśvarēśvarī ॥ 55 ॥

Tamil:

Meaning:

In this 55th verse, Śrī Lalitā appears as:

The Supreme Sovereign Mother, who grants the fullness of lived experience as Mahā-bhogā — aligning body (thanu), mind (karaam), and world (bhuvanam) so that prosperity is not merely possessed but truly experienced.

As Mahaiśvaryā, She is the Empress of divine sovereignty — bestowing authority, leadership (āḷumai pabu), dignity, and stable prosperity, while removing poverty and establishing dharmic influence.

As Mahā-vīryā, She is the hidden heroic vitality within beings — the life-force preserved and strengthened through brahmacharya, granting courage, creative potency, progeny, and resistance to decline.

As Mahā-balā, She is the foundation of holistic strength — granting:

  • physical health
  • mental steadiness
  • intellectual clarity
  • spiritual resilience

Thus She sustains both life and purpose.

As Mahā-buddhi, She is the awakening intelligence (vizhippadaya seyvathu) — the radiant discernment that illumines right understanding, like the divine wisdom that dawned in Jñāna Sambandar through the Mother’s grace.

As Mahā-siddhi, She grants sacred attainment — the experiential fulfillment arising from meditation, devotion, and divine grace. Through Her, spiritual realization becomes lived experience, strengthening faith and uplifting humanity.

And as Mahā-yogeśvareśvarī, She is the Supreme Queen of Yoga — the Śakti of Maheśvara who turns the mind inward, removes impurities (mala), dissolves confusion, and unites the individual soul with the Absolute. No yogic mastery exists apart from Her grace.

Meditation:

This verse teaches that Lalitā is not only the Mother who blesses —She is the source of every form of power:

  • experiential fulfillment
  • sovereignty and prosperity
  • vitality and creative force
  • strength and endurance
  • wisdom and discernment
  • spiritual attainment
  • yogic union

Meditate on Her as Mahā-bhogā when life feels empty despite possessions —She aligns body, mind, and environment so experience becomes joyful.

Meditate on Her as Mahaiśvaryā when seeking stability, dignity, or leadership —She grants rightful authority and removes scarcity.

Meditate on Her as Mahā-vīryā when vitality feels depleted —She awakens the hidden heroic life-force within.

Meditate on Her as Mahā-balā when feeling physically or emotionally weak —She becomes your endurance, patience, and inner steadiness.

Meditate on Her as Mahā-buddhiwhen confusion clouds judgment —She illumines clarity, right understanding, and awakened awareness.

Meditate on Her as Mahā-siddhiwhen striving for progress —She ripens effort into attainment and grants experiential grace.

And as Mahā-yogeśvareśvarī, She reminds us that the highest yoga is not posture, breath, or technique —it is the inward turning of consciousness and surrender to the Supreme Mother, who alone governs all spiritual realization.
