15

Sanskrit:

लक्ष्यरोमलताधारतासमुन्नेयमध्यमा ।
स्तनभारदलन्मध्यपट्टबन्धवलित्रया ॥ १५ ॥

English:

lakṣyarōmalatādhāratāsamunnēyamadhyamā |
stanabhāradalanmadhyapaṭ-ṭabandhavalitrayā ॥ 15 ॥

Tamil:

லக்ஷ்யரோமலதாதா⁴ரதாஸமுந்நேயமத்⁴யமா ।
ஸ்தநபா⁴ரத³ளந்மத்⁴யபட்டப³ந்த⁴வளித்ரயா ॥ 15 ॥

Meaning:

In this 15th verse, Śrī Lalitā appears as:

  • Her slender waist (madhyama) is so delicate that it appears to be supported merely by the thin vine-like line of soft hair (rōma latā). Her waist is praised as the ideal form of divine feminine grace—slender yet strong.
  • Her midsection bears three graceful folds (valī-trayā), caused by the gentle weight of her breasts, and adorned with a decorative waistband (paṭṭa-bandha). These natural folds enhance her beauty, representing both sensual grace and the nurturing aspect of her form.

Meditation:

I meditate upon Śrī Lalitā, whose slender waist, delicate as a vine, holds the strength and grace of creation, and whose midsection, adorned with three graceful folds and a jeweled waistband, embodies both nurturing warmth and regal beauty. May Her elegant form teach me that true strength is not rigidity but the gentle resilience found in grace, and may Her presence inspire me to carry the weight of responsibility with dignity, embracing life’s burdens with love and compassion.
